The Hospice for Life Foundation

The Hospice for Life Foundation strives to be a premier philanthropic organization, transparent and accountable, ensuring the financial stability of the Hospice to fulfill its Mission and Vision.

Established in 2011, the Foundation is committed to cultivating a model of community engagement and philanthropy, encouraging endowment building and maintaining the highest standards of donor respect, integrity, stewardship and public accountability.

The Foundation contributes funds to The Hospice of Windsor & Essex County Inc., building upon more than four decades of excellence in community based hospice palliative care, to support the Hospice’s ongoing commitment to provide the highest quality of care to the communities of Windsor and Essex County through programs and services, patient empowerment and education. The Foundation also assists in facilitating research and capital building projects.

Funds are raised from a variety of sources, including private donations, foundation grants, corporate sponsorship, service groups and fundraising events.

The Hospice is an accredited member of Hospice Palliative Care Ontario and adheres to its ethical Code of Conduct.

The Foundation is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors and is a registered charity (Charitable Registration # 83054 2403 RR0001) with the Canada Revenue Agency under the Income Tax Act. Charitable tax receipts for donations to The Hospice for Life Foundation/The Hospice of Windsor & Essex County are issued for the full amount allowable under Canada Revenue Agency regulations.
